New blood is the lifeblood of any organisation.
What is the usual course for Clubs that are proactive, open, promote inclusion, promote equality and have a zero tolerance approach to abusive people?
THEY THRIVE!
One of the most destructive Club qualities is that of the entrenched member who personally, deems their personal affinities to a Club or building to be of more value than a new member and, wish to rule their fifedom forever.
At the Inchicore Sports and Social Club we promote a welcoming, inclusive approach based on equality.
Over the past 2 years the Inchicore Sports and Social Club Club has carved out a new identifty.
Over 2 years, the Club Secretary and Club Trustee have put in a huge amount of hours each week in the background to forge new relationships, dramatically enhance stakeholder enegagement and communicate the Club to a much wider network of volunteer, sporting, State and international organsisations.
A stunning example of cooperation that has resulted in a magnificent outcome is that between The Club and The P.S.K. (Pit Stop Krew).
Over the years there was much reference made to the “sewing room” in the Club. While it was the source of fond past reflections by older generations within the estate and beyond, the reality of the current living past caught up on the Club in the form of dereliction.
The Southern part of the Club buildings were in appalling condition.
The P.S.K. are the most revolutionary organisation to be introduced into the Club over the past 50 years. Their proactive approach, skills, external relationships and extreme volunteering within the Southern part of the Club’s building (Sewing and Dispensary rooms) transformed this area from dereliction to comfortable Clubhouse rooms.
They never once went to government organisation with cap in hand seeking handouts. All of the efforts were completed by the PSK.
Their work has not gone unnoticed with strong plaudits coming in from Irish Rail, KIN and DCC.
This is exactly the example of volunterring that State bodies wish to foster within Communities.
Well done chaps. A monumental transformation to a space neglected for many, many, many years.
The Before…

And After… speaks for itself.
