The PSK gi
It started early but instead of a run on the scooters, it was a run in the bar.
The walls stripped revealing many years of nails and other items leaving their marks.
The walls were cleaned, prepped, filled and as soon as the first coat was applied. the fuinneog’s were tackled. First time they could be opened in years.
Years of lazy painting and cutting corners sealed them as tight as a Pharoh’s tomb.
A heavy attendance and good atmosphere filled with tea, goodies and food greased the engines and powered the soul.
While the main bar was the main focus, other small jobs were being organised, especially on some electrical issues. Within a few hours of organised activities it all came together.
The big clean up was topped off with “the Italian Job”. To keep the Italian input “…It’s the self preservation society, it’s the self preservation society…” was delivered, pizza style.
As quickly as it started, it ended.
The bar all quiet and ready for a night of northern soul music.
No hanging around with scooter heads.
Our greatfull thanks to the PSK as a program of much needed works kicks, tackling some maintenance in the old girl that is the CIE Hall.
