A fantastic open day in the Club, promoted by Feltmakers Ireland.
The first example were spiked carders. It was make and do. the small plastic black brushes were simply dog brushes. The steel spikes were picked up by our own Lorna, in Morrocco, and repurposed to suit the activity. These items take any remaining impurities out of washed wool.

As cool as you like, Margaret gave a demonstration of combing the wool, to prepare it for spinning. All done in one take. A consumate professional.
A myriad of handcrafted wool items were on display, with a steady stream of newcomers to hand.

FELTED VISION
Ewa runs her own Instagram virtual showsrooms here: FeltedVision (@feltedvision)

Her items are very curious and I could see some influences of the Krampus from Bavaria, the Giants of the Krkonese Mountains, the gothic Halloween themes.
The little orange key holder was ingenious. Designed to keep the screen surface of the phone away from the scratch risks of keys.

Ewa also had some adorable cat hides (all of which are up on her website).

The landscacpe scene (Created by Margaret) on the left is a personal interpretation of my old hill walking stomping grounds in the Comeragh mountains. It depicts Cumshingaun in the upper reaches, with Crotty’s rock over to the right. A beautiful place to camp out https://img.oastatic.com/img2/82252620/max/variant.jpg?revbust=e1b550c6
All in all, a great activity and one that’s well worth taking up before the dark bleakness of winter gloom descends upon us.

Thanks so much for the fab write up guts. It was a great day. Hopefully some new guild members too. We meet monthly there in the hall if anyone is interested in learning about felting.
